TOKYO POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY |
The followings are the reports of Global COE program for 5 years. ■General overview (Report, Slides) ■Project 1 Wind hazard mitigation (Reports; Tokyo Polytechnic University, University of Notre Dame) ■Project 2 Natural / Cross Ventilation (Report) ■Project 3 Air Pollution and Wind Environment (Report) The 'New Frontier of Education and Research in Wind Engineering' proposed by the School of Architecture and Wind Engineering at the Tokyo Polytechnic University was adopted as the Global COE Program, MEXT (5 years,2008-2012). The previous 21st Century COE Program (5years, 2003-2007) has received a high evaluation. Global COE is to promote 'the highest world class research' and 'the prominent education and research in the international aspects'. The aim of Global COE Program, MEXT is to implement internationally competitive university development. In the branch of engineering discipline within Japan, only 14 proposals being shortlisted for Global COE program. Among these selected proposals, 5 programs were contributed in private university. Our major education research fields are 'mitigation of wind hazard', 'ventilation using the natural energy', and 'wind environment and air pollution'. Based on the designated research area, we are carrying out the education research aggressively in the field of wind engineering incorporated with the wind engineering research institutes in 98 countries. ■Advanced Structural Wind Engineering Tamura, Yukio; Kareem, Ahsan (Eds.) was published Most advanced textbook on state-of-the-art structural wind engineering World eminent professors collaborate to publish a textbook Discusses wide range problems and provides their solutions in the field of structural wind engineering [Sept. 1st, 2013 updated] ■Global COE Open Seminar It publishes as soon as the schedule of the immersion program at current year is decided. ■Symposium, Workshop It publishes as soon as the schedule of the immersion program at current year is decided. ■Intensive Course It publishes as soon as the schedule of the immersion program at current year is decided. |
